Some Publication News

Well, I'm sure everyone knows by now that Creative Paper magazine is no longer being published. I was a bit bummed about it because I had a few pages and mini albums that were due to be published in it and now they wont be. It's a bit of a shame that that mag is finished as I thought it was quite a good one. I was a bit worried that I would never get my work back as I had to contact them quite a few times before I got any response, but it finally came in the mail so I am pretty happy about that! Anyway, this is one of the pages that wont be getting published. I will put some of the mini albums on here next time, after I get some decent photos of them.

Kaisercraft Duchess Layout

I love this photo of Manning and with those colours I just had to use the Kaisercraft Duchess papers. It's on the Kaisercraft blog at the moment, along with a few tips about using Fozz Felt.

Onto other news, it looks like poor Jack has Swine Flu. I took him to the doctors yesterday because he was very fluey and his asthma had flared up, and she took one look at him and put on a mask and one on him too. He has had some tests and he's on the anti viral medicine now so hopefully he will be on the mend soon, although I had a bit of a scary night with him. The fever keeps making him delirious. Em has got it too now, so they will both be home for the week. Hmm...I wonder how much scrapping I will get done?

Gorgeous Boy

I love this photo of my gorgeous boy. I did this layout using the Saturday Sketch on the Kaisercraft blog. You can see it here along with some more layouts using the same sketch. I used the Kaisercraft Q1 Duchess papers, brad and stamp, and wooden flourishes and pearls. I had so much trouble actually getting that layout to work as I kept going away from the sketch but I think it finished up ok.

I'll actually be able to start showing some of my other Kaisercraft layouts soon, as they will be going on the Kaisercraft blog. If you havent seen already, make sure you have a look on their blog to see all the DT layouts using the new Q1 products. There will be new layouts and projects going on there all the time so be sure to stop by!

P!NK Concert Photos!

On Wednesday night I went to the P!NK concert with my sister in law Bronwyn and it was AWESOME! We had so much fun! I went to the last concert too so I kind of knew what to expect but Bronwyn hadn't been before and she was SO excited! We were huge dags and bought the same P!NK shirts at the stand before we went in and put them on straight away, lol. We had great seats which were kind of at the side of the stage but quite close to the front so I got some really good photos. Cant wait to scrap them!

How Lucky Am I?

In the mail yesterday I got this awesome RAK from my friend Tina and OMG! I just cant believe how much there is! She must have been cutting for ages!!! I have to say that the cricut machine has never really appealed to me before, but after seeing all this I am very tempted to get one myself! I cant wait to use some of it on a layout, thanks Tina!!!

I also got this gorgeous handmade card from Lien who lives all the way over in Belgium. I just love it and that stamp is so cute that I just might have to hunt one down for myself!

I Won!!! I'm So Excited!!!

Ok, so as you probably know, I have been doing the Legends of Scrap competition over at Scraps of Us for the last few months and just recently finished the final round challenge. Well, I popped over onto the site this morning to see that I've won!!! I couldn't believe it and had to check back a couple of times throughout the day just to make sure I didnt imagine it, but sure enough, it is my name there! I'm so excited!!!! These are the layouts I did for the competition...

It was a lot of fun, with all the challenges, some of them really made me think! I'm going to be a bit lost without the competion now, but Scraps of Us are having a Cybercrop soon, on the 31st of July - 3rd of August, so that should be lots of fun. So...if you arent doing anything on that weekend...why dont you join in too!!!!

Well, it's different...

Yes, it's a bit different from my usual style. I was just in the mood to play so I splattered some paint on my paper and stapled on a few scraps, then stapled a few photos on too. Oh, and then I had to use my new stamp so I whacked that on there too. Do I like it? Hmmm, still not sure about that. But it sure was fun just to stick things down without overthinking everything like I usually do!

Blue Eyed Boy

I love these Fancy Pants papers, they are so gorgeous and perfect for scrapping baby pages. This page of Manning (which didnt photograph very well!) is pretty much the only layout I have done lately. It's actually going to be a double so I cant even say it is really finished! I have been working on the rest of my Kaiser BTP's and trying to get them done, but I am really looking forward to getting stuck into some more layouts again!

Finally Got it Done!

This is the layout I had to do for the final round challenge for the Legends of Scrap comp, and boy did I find it hard! It was really limiting having only 3 colours - brown, green and white to use, and I had to do a minimum of 100 words of journalling, something I find hard at the best of times. But I am really quite liking how it turned out, and it's nice to have a page about me and the kids and what our life is like right now. I'm definately going to miss this competition now that it's all over. It has made me do some layouts that I never would have done otherwise, and it's always fun to have a bit of a challenge.

I've had the papers laying around for a while now, they are Basic Grey, Pink Paislee and Making Memories. The letters are Kaisercraft Q1 Duchess Letter stickers and chipboard, and I've used Kaisercraft Pearls, wood flourishes and flowers, and some MM flowers too. The felt is Queen & Co I think. I got the string of pearls from Spotlight the other day for something like 79 cents per metre. That's the whole metre on there, I wish I'd bought more!

Well, that's it from me for now. Jack tells me that it's his turn on the computer again, and I need to get all my scrapping stuff of the kitchen table so we have somewhere to sit. I so cannot wait to move so I can have a scrap room!

Here are the rules-

2) Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you’ve newly discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award. If you can't pass it on to 15 just pass it on to as many or as few as you like!

Back from Bribie

Well, we just got back from Bribie. It was cold and wet, but it was still good to have a change of scenery for a few days. I did manage to get the kids out to the park and the beach, and they have each brought a bucketful of shells home to "clean and sort".

On Saturday I did a couple of classes at Blossies, and the ladies were just lovely, although I think they were a bit over cutting out by the end of it!

I've been working on some Kaisercraft Off the Page things at the moment, but nothing I can show just yet. And I have done 6 layouts, one for each of the Kaisercraft ranges which I should be able to show very soon, so watch this space!

I can show you this layout, which I put together very quickly from the first sketch in the Kaisercraft Magazine (on page 74). I've used the Kaisercraft Pina Colada papers, brads and letters. Arent they just so nice and bright? It's on the Kaisercraft blog too, although it looks a little different on there. Hopefully next time you're on here I'll have some more to share!

Busy, busy, busy.....!

Well, I have been SO busy the last week, doing layouts with the Kaisercraft Q1 products and keeping the kids occupied. On Wednesday mum ended up going to Bribie with Emma, and I stayed here with Jack because he is sick again with asthma. It's been really nice just spending lots of time with him. Yesterday I took him to see Night at the Museum and it was actually quite good! I bought him a new game for his playstation too, and then last night we went out to dinner with some friends, so he has really enjoyed being an "only child" for the last couple of days. Lots of attention just for him. At the moment he is driving me nuts playing singstar. The poor little guy was cursed with my terrible singing voice but he is having fun. I told him he sounds great and he said "Yeah, I know."

At the moment I am working on a layout for Scraps of Us too, for the final round challenge of the Legends of Scrap competition, but I dont really have anything I can show just yet.

I do have this cute little 7 Gypsies file that I have been working on for the Fancy That retreat. I have decorated it with Kaisercraft Sugar Sugar papers and bling, and it's going to be about Emma's 6th birthday at school. I seem to scrap heaps about her lately so I'll have to start doing a bit more about Jack, so he doesnt feel left out. (and yes, they both take notice of who mummy scraps about!)

And this is one of the classes I'll be teaching at Blossies tomorrow, using Kaisercraft products. those cupcakes are just perfect for cutting out!

Well, that's all from me for now. I'm off to Bribie for the next week or so, just hanging out with the kids and maybe going to the beach if we are lucky enough to have a nice warm day!
