Kaisercraft BTP Album

I finished this cute Kaisercraft mini album the other day and finally scrapped some of those Christmas photos from last year. It was so hard to put only a few photos in it so I made some of the pages open out for an extra couple of photos and journalling inside. My absolute favourite photo in it is the one of Em opening her Cabbage Patch Kid. Just check out the look on her face!

I have been busy scrapping using the new Q1 ranges from Kaisercraft, but nothing I can show just yet. I can tell you that all the products in these new ranges are absolutely gorgeous and you will just want them all!!! I couldnt believe my eyes when I opened the box from Kaisercraft and saw what was inside. The new packaging is awesome too which makes it all easy to store. If you are after some of the Q1 products I know that Fancy That will have the entire range in the shop in the next few days.

I also have a new layout to do for the Legends of Scrap competition over at Scraps of Us. Yes, I made it into the final round challenge!!! It's a really tough one too, because I can only use green, brown and white, 5 photos and a minimum of 100 words journalling. Arrgh! They are so not my colours!!!

Also I got a couple of blog awards the other day, one from Kris and one from Shaz (I haven't forgotten guys!) so I will put them up next time I am on here, maybe tonight if I get a chance.

Well, that's it from me for now. I have set the kids up with some craft (they are making paper food for their teddy bears!), so hopefully I will get some scrapping done this morning!

My Little Bratz Girl

I've been wanting to try being a bit more arty on my layouts, with painting on them and this is the result. I love that BoBunny paper that I used as the base and it was really hard to paint straight onto it! I almost threw it away because it looked so crappy after I painted on it, but I persevered and now I love it! The other papers are Imaginisce and are so gorgeous. I have heaps more of it so will be doing some more pages with it soon. This page is about when Em had her little friend sleep over and they were being 'Bratz' and doing all of these 'model' poses for me. They played Singstar for hours that night and watched Mama Mia and High School Musical. So cute and girly! At the moment her current obsession is Twilight and look what we found today...

I had to stop in at the shops after I picked the kids up from school and right at the front of Target was a rack of Twilight t-shirts. Em saw this one that says Team Edward and hung onto it the whole time we walked around. It's a ladies size small but when she tried it on it was actually quite a good fit so of course I had to buy it for her. She is planning to wear it to her free dress day this week so that should be interesting.

Kaisercraft Grandiose Layout

Wow, this week has gone so quickly. I cant belive it is school holiday time again next week! I have been doing plenty of scrapping, although not much that I can show just yet as it all needs finishing. I can show you this layout using Kaisercraft Grandiose papers though, which is based on the Kaiser June Simple Plan.

When I saw the sketch I was a bit unsure because it is so different from my usual style, and then I chose the papers I liked the least to use, just in case I ruined it,but I love how it turned out! And now I love, love, love those papers! Isn't it weird how that happens? I have had those photos sitting around for about 2 years so it was great to finally scrap them. If you want to see some other takes on the sketch, click here or check out the Kaisercraft newsletter.

Caution - Extremely Long Post

Well, I have been so busy lately and have not had time to post much on here but will make up for it now!

Friday before last Emma had a farm excursion to Paradise Country Farm, which is behind Movieworld. I'll tell you now, DO NOT go there! It was really disapointing and not what I expected at all. When Jack was in Year 1 they went to a different farm and got to bottle feed goats, milk a cow, feed pigs and get a very hands on experience which he loved. This place was not really hands on at all and Em told me a few times she was bored and could we go home now! There was one cute part where some sheep ran down this little ramp up onto the stage and then there was a sheep shearing demonstration but it was kind of downhill from there. I did get a few cute photos, and I let Em run around with my camera taking photos for a while so she enjoyed that. (and I got a few interesting photos there, Lol, like extreme close ups of her friends faces and pics of the dirt.)

After the farm trip we headed up to Bribie for the weekend, but it rained so I didnt even get to take any good photos. Last Monday was my birthday (eek!), and mum made a yummy dinner for me. I got lots of nice pressies, but the best was a ticket to the PINK concert from my brother. He is such a sweetie! And my Nan got me a rose plant called the Samantha Rose, and I'm really hoping it survives as I dont have a green thumb at all!

And this is a handmade card I got from my sister-in-law Kirsten. I just love that border punch with the candles and I think I am going to have to hunt one down!

Jack and Em had their school disco on Friday night and Emily had a new dress made by mum, and had asked me to do her hair in plaits so it would go "all wavy". She though she was just the most stunning thing ever and had a great time dancing non stop. Jack spent most of his time running in and out of the boys toilets with his friends and getting up to mischief, although I did see him have a bit of a groove at one point when the song he requested came on.

Yesterday we went for a BBQ at Wivenhoe with Patricks family and the kids had a ball running around with their cousin. I even got some cute photos of the cousins with their granny and grandpa, although Jack was in a mood and wasnt very co-operative.

And of course I have been scrapping! I have been working on a few things for the Fancy That retreat which I cant show just yet but here is a bit of a sneak peak...

There are still a couple of places left for the retreat so if you are thinking of going to one, then I can tell you now, this one is going to be awesome! Click here for more details.

Finally, here is a layout I did for Blossies about Jack being such a little scaredy cat. He really didnt want to go on this haunted house ride but Em talked him into it. Just look at the fear in his eyes! I kept it pretty simple and then wrapped some of our halloween cobwebs around it.

Little Girls are Magic

I just finished this layout for the Legends of Scrap competition over at Scraps of Us. The theme for this round was to create a magical layout. Well, I kind of did a magical themed page for the last round, so I didnt want to do the same thing again, so I thought I'd scrap this photo of Emily and her cousin dressed up as fairies. I wanted to keep it fairly simple because it's such a cute photo and I didnt want to take away from that. I used these Crate Paper and Basic Grey papers that I've been wanting to use for ages, and Kaisercraft paper for the title, as well as plenty of Kaisercraft bling. The little stamps are Imaginisce and I just love them, so it was a good excuse to use them again. I cant believe that I've made it to Round 4 of the competition, and I'm hope, hope, hoping that I'll make it into Round 5. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Cute as a Cup Cake! - Kaisercraft Sugar Sugar

I havent had a chance to really update my blog lately, but here is a sneak peek of a layout I did the other day using the Kaisercraft Sugar Sugar range of papers. Those cute cupcakes just beg to be cut up and decorated, and I just had to title this page "Cup Cake" because that is one of the little nicknames I have for Em. There is a pull out tag behind the photo which will have journalling on. I'll be teaching this as a class at Blossies on the 4th of July.

Well, that's all for now. I will update with a longer post tomorrow sometime. Right now I'm off to watch the rest of The Mentalist for my weekly perv on the gorgeous Simon Baker!

Published Layout

This is a layout I did about a year ago which has just been published in this months Scrapbooking Memories. The colours seemed to come out looking a bit wishy washy in the mag but they are actually really bright. Mum was NOT impressed that there was a photo of her on it. Lol.

Sick...

The three of us have been sick with the dreaded flu. No, not swine flu! Just the regular sort, but it is bad enough. Jack has been doing it the toughest though, because it's flared up his asthma again. I took this photo when he was sitting out in the lounge, using his neb. He'd only been on it for a minute and then he just drifted off to sleep. He'd been coughing and wheezing all night so it was nice to see him finally get some rest.
